Meet at St John the Baptist curch, St John’s Road, caversham. On road parking - 2 hour limit. 23, 28, 29 buses from Friar Street and Apex Plaza central Reading stop outside the church. A short walk over Caversham weir, Forbury Gardens, Reading Abbey and Oscar Wilde walk. Coffee, tea and toasted sandwiches in the community cafe after the walk.. Some grass, possibly mud.

Start Point: Pay and display public car park at Hambledon Village. Nearest Post Code RG9 6SE. The walk crosses the Hambledon Brook stream before climbing into the lovely hills and woods to the west of Hambledon Valley. This circular walk is mainly along woodland and farmland paths with short sections on country lanes. There are four moderate climbs but most of the walk is on gentle or flat terrain.

We will finish at Worting and catch bus to Basingstoke station and then train back to Reading. Please note buses/trains are approx. half hourly. Please bring a packed lunch.

We will travel on the first train to Paddington then on to Farringdon Station (10:30) by Elizabeth line for a walk around Clerkenwell and the City of London taking in the Knights of St John,. the home of the Wesleys. We will pause for lunch in Finsbury Circus before returning to Farringdon station via the Barbican high level walk. Bring a packed lunch. All paved paths and mud unlikely.

Nearest postcode RG9 6TG, w3w lost.coasted.sparkles. Walk starts at old pub. This is a glorious round of three of the most picturesque Chiltern villages, Skirmett, Turville & Fingest. Fine views, green meadows and glorious beechwoods in their autumn colours. Some steep hills.

Bus from central Reading Pink route 25, stop FJ in Friar St leaves at 9.45am, stops nearby at Peppard stores at 10.13. Turn R on leaving bus, head to crossroads, turn L into Gallowstree Road and Peppard War Memorial Hall is a short way down on RHS. Return bus at 21 minutes past the hour. Car parking available at hall, in nearby roads or at the crossroads. A largely wooded walk with gentle ascent and descent. Exact length to be decided nearer the time depending on weather and timing of AGM.

After crossing the river over the weir we climb through Caversham Park village then over the fields to Crowsley Park to pick up the Pack and Prime path to the centre of Henley where we can catch the 28 or 850 bus back to central Reading.
