We will walk to Hartslock Wood nature reserve\, then via Upper Gatehampton Farm to Great Chalk Wood\, returning to Goring on the Thames Path. I would like there to be some orchids at Hartslock\, and for that bit of the Thames Path to emerge from the river!

DESCRIPTION:A lovely level walk around the Stanlake Park Wine estate. Nearest Post Code RG10 0BN.  There are no stiles . Cafe  for refreshments after the walk. May be muddy in parts. Free car park. The 850 bus from central Reading to Twyford\, get off at Waitrose (at their cafe side) on London Road. Turn right from bus stop to walking west along London Road towards traffic lights. Cross at traffic lights heading south and walk along Waltham Road. Then take 2nd exit off roundabout\, continuing south on Waltham Road.  Take the next left hand turn into Stanlake Park Wine Estate. Approximately – 22 minute walk from central Twyford to Stanlake Park Wine Estate. Train from Reading Station to Twyford station Exit Twyford Station heading east along Station Road.  Right turn onto Waltham Road . Cross Waltham Road at traffic lights . Continue south along Waltham Road to roundabout. Take 2nd exit off roundabout\, and continue along Waltham Road.  Take next left hand turn into Stanlake Park Wine Estate. Approximately 18 minute walk from Twyford Station to Stanlake Park Wine Estate. John\, the church historian will provide a  longer briefing at Ruscombe Church.

DESCRIPTION:The longer of two alternative walks prior to the Pang Valley picnic. \nPark in Cumbers Field at Rushall Manor Farm Outdoor Centre between Bradfield & Stanford Dingley. Please use this car park (Nearest postcode RG7 6DS)\, as the site has a wedding clearing up till 1pm and a cub camp in Troopers Field . The Farm Drive is approx 3/4mile along Back Lane on RHS as you approach Stanford Dingley. DO NOT take the RH turning in Back Lane to Rushalls Farm – carry on until sign to RUSHALLS MANOR FARM. The walk is a pleasant mix of open fields\, country lanes\, woods. A peaceful walk with time to enjoy the outdoors. No dangerous roads to cross or walk along. \nBack at the delightful Black Barn\, we will join those on the shorter walk for our Pang Valley Picnic. There are picnic tables and toilets provided as well as cover if we have a rain shower. Please bring your own picnic which can be left in cars while we walk.\n \nAnyone who prefers not to walk can meet us at the Black Barn for the picnic at 12.30pm
