On Saturday December 5th, 2015 we went by coach to Salisbury to visit the Stonehenge Visitor Centre, Old Sarum, the Christmas markets, the cathedral and to walk around the city. 
Thirty five Pang Valley members and friends caught the coach in Sonning Common and Pangbourne and set off for Salisbury. We stopped at Stonehenge where eight of our number alighted to visit the stones. The second stop was Old Sarum where twenty three got off to walk the three miles into Salisbury. The weather was very, very windy so we walked fairly quickly around the Iron Age hilltop and along the river into Salisbury. Lots to see there:- two markets, St. Thomas’s church with The Doom painting and more than 100 Christmas trees designed and decorated by local schools and charities. 
We all met up for lunch in the cathedral refectory with two others who had come down by train to meet us. Further walking around Salisbury took us quickly to the time to leave and return back to Reading. A most enjoyable day out for us all, despite the wind! Susan
