On Wednesday 9th August we held what is now one of our regular events, a walk round Aldworth and tea in St Mary’s Church.
Eighteen people met at the Bell, Aldworth on Wednesday August 9th for pre-walk fortification on a rainy day. In view of the weather, a decision was made to offer a shorter walk as well as the advertised five miles. Six of the party opted for the shorter walk , initially visiting the church to see the Giants and the Millennium tapestry, and twelve for the longer walk. They walked down past Kiddington Cottage to Thurle Down and back up along the Ridgeway. Wet walkers returned to St Mary’s church , Aldworth in record time for delicious cake and hot tea to lubricate those parts not already soaked through.
