Our summer walking weekend in 2015 is in the Elan Valley in Powys in Wales starting on 12th June, costing approximately £155 for two nights or £300 for four nights (with no single supplement!). The Elan Valley Lodge offers a weekend of guided walks in the fantastic surroundings of the Elan Estate, a walkers’ paradise in a beautiful setting. We will be able to book for either two nights from 12th to 14th June or four nights from 12th to 16th June, so some will be there for Friday and Saturday night, others might wish to extend the break to four nights.
The Lodge is a Victorian building that has been extensively adapted and renovated to offer excellent en-suite accommodation for 36 people, provides fantastic food and a warm welcome at the end of our walks with afternoon tea and home made cakes! We will have bed and breakfast, dinner and packed lunches. Walk leaders will be provided for a group of 12 or more people.
The Elan Estate was formed over 100 years ago with the building of a series of spectacular reservoirs. Most of the area 73 square miles is protected by EC and UK conservation directives and this creates an unrivalled walkers paradise, a haven for wildlife in a beautiful setting. The guides will offer us a range of options at the start of our break to make sure that the walks suit our party. Many of the routes start or finish on the doorstep, and offer a varied terrain; with lakes, woodland, mountain and moors.
We have asked about the non-walkers who might wish to come, there is a visitor centre nearby, a Red Kite feeding station, Rhayader museum nearby and Aberystwyth is one hour away.

We need to finalise on numbers as soon as possible to ensure we are able to secure a booking for this walking weekend. We have been recommended that this is a great place for a group weekend away with excellent facilities and walks arranged to suit all of us.
