Berkshire Walkers will hosting the Area AGM at Knowl Hill Village Hall on Saturday 19th November 2016 (SU823795) Parking will be available all day; specific times may vary on the day, but the walks will aim to leave on time; further details of the walks will be published nearer the time. 10:00 – a choice of at least two walks (approx. 4-5 miles) from Knowl Hill Village Hall. 12:00 – 14:00 lunch at Knowl Hill Village Hall. 12:00 – 14:00 an opportunity to find out about the groups in Berkshire, their events, walks and work. This will include details about recent cases where the Berkshire groups have helped to maintain your rights of way and information about how to get involved. There will also be a stand by St John Ambulance to discuss first aid whilst out walking. 14:00 – 15:00 area AGM – agenda to follow closer to the time. 15:00 – 16:00 a talk by Prof. Mark Fellowes of the University of Reading: Abstract: “By accident and by design: three stories of how our individual decisions affect our garden birds”
In this talk he shares examples from research of the consequences of our choices for garden birds, from blackbirds to red kites.
