Windsor and District Group is hosting the meeting this year at Slough Cricket Club, Upton Court Park, Slough SL3 7LT – please come along and support your area committee and the speaker. There will be various displays in the hall.
10:15am: A morning walk of about 6 miles taking in a section of the Jubilee River, Eton Wick and Eton.
10:30am: A morning walk of about 5.5 miles through Eton and Windsor and a section of the Thames Path.
Hot & cold drinks will be available after the walk and packed lunches can be eaten at the hall. 2:00pm: AGM followed by a talk about Windsor Great Park by Harvey Stephens, Head of the Savill Gardens. Light refreshments will be available. The venue is at grid ref SU991784 – The cricket club is at the eastern end of Upton Court Park. Turn at the roundabout on Upton Court Road opposite Dashwood Close signposted to Kings Reach, a new Bellway housing development. After about 100yd turn right, signposted Slough Sports Clubs, down a lane with small speed bumps and poplar trees either side of the lane. Take the first turning left signposted Slough cricket club and it’s the first building on the right.
We hosted this event in 2013 – it is nice to meet fellow ramblers from other local groups in the area and compare notes about holidays, weekends away, social events and publicity.
