27 July 2014 Summer Picnic and Walk
On Sunday 27th July, twenty six of our members met in Upper Basildon for a delightful walk through the woods and hillsides of the Berkshire Downs. We separated into two sub-groups, one led by Susan and one by Peter, for a five mile walk in glorious summer sunshine. We returned to their house and met up with four or five non-walkers for a picnic lunch to which we had all contributed. Good organisation had ensured we had an excellent range of savoury and sweet dishes. Tea and coffee and soft drinks were provided but we also took our own drinks. It was very pleasant to sit around chatting, eating and drinking in their beautiful garden. Many thanks to Susan and Peter Twitchett for hosting this event again this year.
